As I sit here drinking my coffee, I realized that I want to wish you a late but always deserving Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. Its been some time since Admin or myself sent any type of email to let you guys know whats up with YCD. So to end this dreaded dry spell I thought today would be the day to let you guys in on the up and coming changes as well as some you may noticed here at YCD.
Now before I start, I want to share with you the concern I have with the lack of activity the board is seeing. I understand we all have life's outside of YCD but a quick check in of the board couldn't hurt once and awhile. So as one of my many steps to improve activity, I made a new forum called 'The Coffee Shop'. You may have noticed it at the bottom of the board and may have wondered what it was about. I've made it so that you guys can have a way to hold conversations that's not really off topic nor can the topic be held via PM or chat room. I've seen this work on other forums and hope to see it work here. The next change you may or may not have seen was made in the Survival Gear Discussion forum. More specifily, all the threads that contained the same topic of gear, bags, and/or kits/list. I've merged at least four with the thread Bug Out Kits/Bags and did my best to edit the thread so the topic stays on track. For now on please use that thread for any and all bug out bag related items to include kits/lists and pictures. Moving on to the chat room. I know I have opened up a new forum for you guys to use but we are also letting the chat room go to waste. Its great to use the chat room when you need to ask a question, get help or just plain kill some time with. However, since we lack in the use it category, I have come up with a plan and hope to see it work. The plan is to move Sunday Night Firearms to Wednesday night. There are three reasons for this move. One is due to it being on Sunday night, nothing wrong with Sunday, its just most of are getting ready for the work week or just chilling out for the night and therefore wont log on. Second is due to no one being on. Third reason is the Outdoor Channel runs a program every Wednesday night at 7pm CST called Wednesday Night At The Range. The plan is to have the chat room be used while this program is on. If you like this idea, I will see you in the chat room on Wednesday. The next thing on my list, cooking. For those of us who have some skills with cooking, I want us to be able to show case our food along with step by step directions on how to make it. But I'm unsure on how I should go about this one. Should I have a new forum or a new sub-category in the Food Preparations & Storage forum? You guys tell me how it should be. This is going to be your forum so I think its far to say you have the choice on where is should go. All in all the new steps to get this website back on its feet will take time. It wont happen over night nor will it in a week. Its up to you guys to come back, look through the site and add to it. I also want to challenge you. I want you to find a new member in a month starting from today's date (29DEC09). I'm sorry to say that there is no prize this time. However, if and when the site gets moving along, maybe just maybe prizes can be offered. Again, I want to wish you and your family a late Merry Christmas and hope that the new year is a Happy New Year. -------------------- |

It's been a very long time since I have posted here and hopefully continue to keep up with this forum now that I have a little bit more time. Luckily, I haven't stopped with the emergency preparedness gig and continuously practicing knowledge. Hopefully I may have learned or can expand on a topic from the past year.

I'm still here but I just normally get on and read a few things here and there and then get off because there just aren't enough people posting anymore. I'm sorry to say this but I think that the leaving of HappyFeet actually marked the downward spiral of YCD, maybe everyone just came here to read his pathetic arguments xD

Quick update. I checked the ACP and noticed that guest members had permissions to reply in some areas that are reserved for members. I fixed that so I do believe that the porn spamming will stop.
