ill go in order of practicality, in my opinion that i own now.

1.Mossburg Maverick 20g pump (i choose the pump over semi auto b/c im more accurate with these sights) holds 6 shots, i perfer 00 buck.syenthetic (sp.) stock, pump, ect.
2.semi auto Remington 1100, holds 5 shots, only has a single bead sight.any shells used to hunt turkey are good with this gun to me, especially due to price of buckshot/slugs.
3.S&W .38 special one with synthetic grip, holds 6 shots, heavyer, and one that has a wood grip and holds 5 shots, really light.

all of those are locked away in a closet which i dont have/or know where the key is (im 14, parents lock it)so my only options for imediate use are:

1.knives unless im in school (at which point i use my belt lol) i carry 2 knives 1. a 4 inch blade folder knive (frost cutterly rescue knive with a glass breaker and seat-belt cutter).and 2.a 2 inch blade folder like on the punisher with the curved blade for cutting open the neck and main vains.and a "bug out" 7 inch blade fixed knive "thats not mine" wink.gif i cant have a blade larger that my palm according to the law.
2.myself, i took almost 3 years of MMA and i train daily now and have for tyedoityourselfdo (not a real thing if you didnt catch that)with a 100lb bag and ufc fight gloves.

i have a bug out kit almost finished and a escape route and full maps of calhoun county AL.i live somewhat close to anniston army depot where they are dissasembling the nukes (i know lol) they are disarmed but the radiation can still leak, so i have a free issued one time use NBC ready gas mask (its a clear "bag" with a blower/filter, supplies to seal of many rooms (which i need i have a wide open house, few corners), and a 3ft tall 2 ft wide room filter.

what i want to get if i can when i can

1.sks
2.a kimber custom covert ops (the first version) .45.(pistol)(double stack 14 round mag capacity!)comes standard with a crimson trace laser grip.
3.a tactical blackhawk hatchet.
4.mags and mags and mags
5.ammo ammo ammo and more ammo.
9.vest ect
ect.

remember im only 14.tell me what you think and dont flame me if i made any mistakes, i dont usualy type alot at a time, it took me 30min to type this.

nunnally04,

I won't flame you, but I'll point out that you are talking about thing in the Rifle and Main Battle Weapon section. You may want to delete the info about .22s, your bow, knives, spear, and airsoft items. There is a forum for pistols and secondary weapons, and that is probably a better place for much of your post.

Based on what you have written out, I see three things that make sense.

1. Getting an AK or SKS.

2. Getting amunition.

3. Getting magazines.

You should be able to purchase a SKS pretty cheaply with your parents permission. Get a job, and start saving your money. The SKS is a more accurate weapon than the AK, and while it has a smaller magazine capacity, its still a very solid, well built, and reliable weapon. The nice part is that you can start buying ammo that will work in both the AK and SKS (7.62x39).

Dump the idea of the funky weapons that you read about online. They are difficult to get, expensive, hard to find parts and magazines for, and not worth the effort.

ETA- For 14, you sound like you are heading in the right direction.

lol, true but that finish is nice, but i do my own painting (airbrush paint gun)i can do pretty much anything so i guess ill probably go with a sig p226?i saw a synthetic stock setup for the sks, called a Tapco, its only like $130 for the setup which includes: stock, foregrip thing, muzzle break, and a detachable 20 round magazine.is that illeagal?and a sks is only about $300 so for about $750 i can get i nice sks with comfortable setup, a scope mount and a holographic sight, some 20 round mags, and some ammo.BTW where is the best place to get 7.62 bullets cheaply?and how much are they?ty.

i want it to look like this but with a more "grassy" camo.

EDIT:i just found out the 20 round mag is just like the 10 round permenate (sp?) mag that takes the stripper clip, but it acts like a new mag-well
Wayneard3413
Dont worry about the stock and definatly dont worry about any optics yet... What you need to do is get a firm grasp on the basics and using your irons first
nunnally04
i am very experienced shooting rifles, i just dont own any, out of all my family, freinds i have the best shot.and sometimes i think its best to start with a optic if you plan to put one on it with, so you dont get confused.and i need the pistol grip extra stability, especialy when the gun has some weight to it.
Wayneard3413
A SKS doesnt weigh that much... And although you might be a good shot you probably dont have the complete skill set that you could... Unless you can make hits out to around 50 yards while moving or out to at least two hundred yards with open sights then you need to keep working on it

And this isnt a dig on you... I trained with the military and my department for several years with open sights before i felt truly comfortable with a carbine like i do now
nunnally04
ok, ill listen to the experts biggrin.gif

thanks for the help
Juggernaut_S12
Most reliable optic made is the Mk 1 human eyeball!
Wayneard3413
Sure thing man

The first thing you need to ask yourself is what do you plan on doing with this rifle... That will help steer your towards how you want to set it up

QUOTE

Haha yeah ive never had a battery go out with it... Although an optic is a great force multiplier its more effective when used by a person who has a firm grasp on the basics

Sight alignment, breathing, trigger squeeze and follow through
nunnally04
what do you mean for use, like cqb mid-range, sniper or ect? if so mid range gun for target practice, hunting, and when SHTF.for hunting ill use the 5 round clip (i think its a clip since it under 10 shots right?)and for combat and ect ill use the 20-40.i perfer scopes for hunting for sure b/c the target is usualy far away.and for airsoft (combat) i like red dot scopes, or non/low zoom scopes.for something like my plans for the gun i think a 4x red dot scope would do good.
Cross
Learn how to shoot WITHOUT an optic, first. It's funny how how a person will say they are a good shot, until you make them use irons wink.gif

im best with "iron sights" om my shotgun.ill work on the running and shooting thing, im good on the long distance

Learn to walk BEFORE you run......

also, learn to shoot both right and left side.
nunnally04
i could do that when playing airsoft with my mp5, but idk about real steel, ill work on it.i really appreciate all the help guys.

No dont run... Start out walking, you can only move as fast as you can make hits... And what is your definition of a long distance shot? It will be dependent on your AO but at the minimum you should be able to hit a man sized target at 300m
nunnally04
no about 150 yards with a .22, my range is a pasture in the country lol.ill keep working, to about oh say 350-400 yards?
Wayneard3413
With a .22 just make some cardboard silhouettes and keep practicing until you can reliably make hits out the max effective range of your rifle
nunnally04
the effective range is a mile and half... jk i know what you mean.

Key word here is EFFECTIVE range. A mile and a half is the MAX range fora .22 but it will be nowhere near effective that far out. Effective range is the range in which you can reasonably make a kill. For a .22, that's about 100 yards.

i know, i said jk (just kidding).lol.but i meant a head sized target at 150 yards, human sized probably 200?
Wayneard3413
Ive seen accurized 10/22s that could reach out there a good ways but i dont know... Thats a tiny light little bullets to be traveling too far... The wind would wreak havoc on it
